So my old hand me down seat covers were falling apart leading up to my trip to the North Island. I decided i had to bite the bullet now, having researched seat covers over the past year. I ordered a pair of front seat covers from Rugged Valley in grey canvas a couple weeks out from commencing my trip . Lead in time for manufacturing was 10 days, so I opted to pick them up from the factory in Masterton. I set out from Runanga, West Coast on Sunday morning to cross Cook Strait mid afternoon from Picton. Monday morning in Wellington a phone call to Rugged Valley for an update confirmed the seat covers were in que for manufacture by 4pm. I had time for a stop at Remutaka incline at Cross Creek, Wairarapa before finding my way to the factory in Masterton at 4.30pm. Nice to meet the crew.
I fitted the seat covers while camped at Castle Point a couple days later. The covers are in 3 components for each seat. So headrest, backrest and seat cushion. All parts fit snugly with Velcro tapes to fasten. The seat cushion cover was the most difficult to fit due to limited space under the seat (and a car full of camping equipment) having to mate the Velcro tapes by feel. I was pleased to see that each backrest cover has a map pocket in behind.
